Ocular AI, a Zimbabwean AI startup created in 2024 by Google and Microsoft Ex-employees has been selected for Y Combinator’s winter 2024 batch.
The AI startup was born with the idea of enabling organizations to search and organize data while visualizing and automating the workflow all on a single platform.
The founders of Ocular AI, Louis Murerwa and Michael Moyo expressed that the idea of the AI creation stems from their personal experiences working for their previous employers.
Issues such as unorganized data spanning across different SaaS tools were a hindrance to efficient and fast workflow.
Therefore what the AI does for a company is to connect all their data across all their tools and put them in a platform for easy use.
Y Combinator is a startup accelerator company, which means they look for promising startup companies to invest in and take them to the greatest heights.
They are responsible for companies like Airbnb, Stripe, Coinbase, DoorDash, Reddit, Checkr, and many more.
Moreover, Ocular AI is the first Zimbabwean startup to be included in their list of supported companies.
According to sources, the selection was based on Ocular AI’s goal, which will help businesses in almost every sector with the problem of workflow efficiency.
