One of the top Nigerian web-hosting companies WhoGoHost, has changed its brand name to GO54, to fit its continental expansion goal.
The name choice, however, was not random as GO represents the company’s idea of going online, and the number 54 represents all known countries in Africa, which the company aims to reach.
According to GO54, in a statement, the company will now offer digital solutions to small businesses across the continent as part of its new branding agenda.
GO54 was founded in 2007 to provide domain, hosting, marketing, and website-building solutions in Nigeria. Right now, the company is proud to say that it has served over 140,000 clients in Nigeria.
The GO54 rebranding, however, will showcase a new user-friendly AI-powered website builder, payment gateways, email marketing, bulk SMS, and links in Bioproducts. On its quest for continental expansion, GO54 acquired SendChamp in September 2023 for an undisclosed figure.
SendChamp, a cloud communication startup that enables small African businesses to have online messaging capabilities, is a milestone completed by GO54. According to the company, the reason for this move is direct access to the SendChamp customer database and its customer support solutions, which is valuable for rebranding and expansion ambition.
It’s true that the aim of continental expansion comes with its own set of challenges, including low internet access in some locations, and fierce competition in other markets. However, thanks to our local strategy, we have developed a competitive strategy to get us through the tough market. We look to offer localized solutions including customer support, local currency payments, and tech talent development
Toluwani Adejuyigbe, GO54 CEO
According to Adejuigbe, GO54 is no longer a Nigerian business, but an African business as the company is evolving beyond domain and hosting services.
