SpaceX’s Starlink has significantly increased its subscription fees in Nigeria due to the country’s high inflation rate.
Nigerian residents using Starlink’s 1 TB plan will now pay ₦75,000 ($48) monthly, a significant increase from the previous ₦38,000 ($24).
Due to excessive levels of inflation, the Starlink monthly service price will increase.
Starlink told customers in an Email
Local roaming will cost ₦167,000 per month (up from ₦49,000), and international roaming will be ₦717,000 per month. Existing customers will see the changes on October 31st, while new subscribers will pay the higher rates starting immediately.
Starlink kits in Nigeria continue to sell for ₦440,000, and unlike in Kenya, there is no rental option for those unable to afford the full price. Additionally, Nigerian customers do not have access to the cheaper 50GB plan (KES 1,300) offered in Kenya.
