Samsung has officially commenced the global rollout of One UI 7, its latest Android 15-based interface, starting April 7, 2025. This update introduces a suite of AI-driven features, a refreshed design, and enhanced customization options, aiming to redefine the Galaxy user experience.

What’s New in One UI 7?

1. AI-Driven Personalization

One UI 7 integrates advanced AI capabilities, allowing for more intuitive interactions. Features like real-time call transcription and enhanced writing tools are designed to streamline daily tasks and boost productivity.

2. Revamped Interface

The update brings a minimalist aesthetic with a simplified home screen, redesigned widgets, and an updated lock screen. The “Now Bar” introduction offers real-time updates directly on the lock screen, reducing the need to unlock the device frequently.

3. Enhanced Widgets

Widgets take center stage in One UI 7, offering increased visibility and engagement. Developers are encouraged to optimize their widgets to leverage this newfound prominence, potentially boosting user interaction and app engagement.

4. Camera App Overhaul

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the reorganized camera app, which now offers better motion photo features and enhanced zoom capabilities. The interface has been streamlined for easier access to various modes and settings.

The initial rollout targets the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. Subsequent updates will extend to other Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the coming weeks/months.

Update: Shortly after the initial release, there were reports about a “serious bug” in One UI 7 that affected device unlocking—particularly among Galaxy S24 series users in South Korea.

Due to the reported issues, Samsung paused the rollout temporarily. The issue was quickly resolved, and the One UI 7 rollout was back on track.
