Nvidia, the U.S.-based chipmaker, along with its global employees, has generously contributed $15 million to Israeli non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting civilians affected by the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

This substantial donation, comprising $5 million from thousands of employees across more than 30 countries, was further matched and doubled by Nvidia through a special program designed to assist those impacted by the war. This initiative marks the largest humanitarian fundraiser in the company’s 30-year history.

Gideon Rosenberg, Nvidia’s deputy general counsel, expressed gratitude for the extensive support from Nvidia families worldwide. He acknowledged the collective efforts and genuine care demonstrated by employees, emphasizing their prayers and hope for the safe return of their colleague Avinatan Or and other hostages held by Hamas.

Avinatan Or, a 30-year-old engineer at Nvidia since April 2022, was captured by Hamas during the Nova music festival on October 7, along with his girlfriend Noa Argamani, and approximately 240 others. At the same time, some hostages have been released since then or remain in captivity.

Nvidia employees chose to direct their donations to various organizations in the region, including Asor Fund (JGive), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Doctors Without Borders, Friends of United Hatzalah, IsraAID (US) Global Humanitarian Assistance, Jewish Agency for Israel, World Central Kitchen, and Zaka.

In addition to the financial contributions, Nvidia has provided practical assistance by donating hundreds of computers to families evacuated from the north and south of Israel. The company also provided thousands of hot meals through its Yokneam office cafeteria, showcasing a comprehensive commitment to supporting those affected by the conflict.
