The launch event, which took place at the Marriot Hotel, Lagos, saw the collaboration of the streaming giant Showmax. In attendance were Infinix executives, Showmax executives, and brand ambassadors from both companies.

The Infinix Integrated Marketing Communications and PR Manager, Oluwayemisi Ode opened the event by showcasing the new phones which include, the Note 40, Note 40 Pro, Note 40 Pro 5G, and the Note 40 Pro+ 5G.

She highlighted the phones are powered by the new Cheetah chip, bringing along many innovations including the all-round fast charge 2.0.

The Infinix Note 40 series, will offer wireless charging pads and magnetic charging, which the company’s PR boasts of being the only company doing so. In addition, the phones can act as a secondary power bank as it is capable of reverse wireless charging.

Further into the charging innovations, the Note 40 series boasts a high density and 1600 charging cycles, meaning that after 2 years of constant charging, the battery will maintain 80% of its full strength.

The Lagos Regional Trainer for Infinix, Richard Ahachi anchored this aspect of the event. He described the design as a “hyperspeed design”, highlighting that the Note 40 series comes with an “active halo”, which is visible when the phone receives an alert for incoming calls, messages, and other forms of alerts.

For the display, the device comes with a 120 hertz Amoled, Ultra-smooth eye care display. Extra display features include a 3d Cord display, a 65-degree curve, and a bezel-less design giving it a good feel in the hand.

For screen protection, the new phones are built with the Corning Gorilla Glass GG5, according to Richard, will protect the phones from scratches and falls.

The Infinix Note 40 series performance

According to Richard, the focus of the Note 40 series is to provide efficiency in gaming, which requires high-performance processors dishing out high processing power for a smooth gaming experience.

The Lagos trainer noted that the processors are always ready for whatever processing strain any game would present to the phones. Explaining that the Infinix Note 40 series boasts of possessing 6NN gaming dominance and an X-boost gaming engine, giving it an edge over most smartphones in the market.

In comparison, most smartphones offer a “reactive gaming strategy”, meaning that the device will react to high gaming specifications and overheat during play.

The Note 40 series, on the other hand, will not experience overheating, as it is equipped with the X-boost engine, which comes with a proactive gaming strategy developed for that single purpose, offering a frame rate of 88.8 per second, maxing out at 90.

The devices offer 256 GB of storage space and 8 GB RAM paired with a 5,000 MaH battery. In terms of audio quality, the Infinix Note 40 series delivers immersive audio produced by JBL, offering a 360-degree symmetric sound and 58% bass performance.

For the camera, the devices are equipped with a 108mp Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), super zoom camera. A feature that guarantees to provide clear long-distance zoom and shake-less picture capabilities.

In addition to that, the camera will offer 15 different shooting modes, including selfie, super night, portrait, and more.

The Infinix Note 40 series however is not waterproof but has built-in IP53 splashproof features, which protect the phones from dusts and droplets of liquid substances known to destroy phones.

In the aspect of software, the Infinix Note 40 series will continue to support software updates for 2 years and security patches for 3 years.
