While it is likely that Rockstar Games has been diligently working on GTA 6 for several years, the official confirmation of the game’s production came in February 2022.
The decision to release the trailer in December aligns with Rockstar’s 25th-anniversary celebrations, as mentioned by the gaming giant’s president, Sam Houser.

Simultaneously, Rockstar has announced a collaboration with Netflix, allowing several of its titles to be featured on the streaming platform’s gaming offering. On December 14th, Netflix subscribers will gain access to GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas on their mobile devices.
