Autonomous AI agents that can communicate with other AI agents will arrive by 2025, says Pascal Brier, Capgemini’s Chief Innovation Officer.
Also known as Multi-Agents, these AI agents would cut the current human workforce by 30% according to studies.
According to Capgemini, this system would see a collection of agents working together to solve tasks in a collaborative and distributed way.
These AI agents fall into two categories: individual agents which carry out tasks on your behalf and multi-agent technology (agents communicating with agents).
For example, an agent running an ad campaign in Nigeria could run the concept with another AI agent in legal to make sure it follows the country’s legal regulations.
The first major wave of AI in 2022, which i would call V1, is all about understanding what a prompt is and understanding what an LLM (Large Language Model) is. Now, AI and generative AI are getting closer together and it’s much more about building those engines of knowledge, using generative AI to interact with those engines, and using this new motion of agents as being either a substitute or co-pilot to find and do things for us.

A survey of over 1,000 companies with revenues of $1 billion or more found that 71% expect to use AI agents for automation, while 64% view it as a chance to free up human workers from repetitive tasks and let them concentrate on more valuable tasks.
