It was fun while it lasted, although Apple kept blocking it. Beeper Mini is officially over. This comes after continuously finding new workarounds to bring the iMessage to Android devices.

The developer is tired of constantly being blocked by Apple at every turn. The credibility of Beeper Mini is negatively impacted whenever it goes offline or becomes useless because of Apple.

Also, the stress of going against the largest company in the world is not worth it, and would rather move to achieve its goal of creating the best chat app in the world.

The Last Turn

There is a final workaround for Beeper mini users, but the process is extremely complex. It involves getting a Mac or Linux computer with the Beeper desktop app installed plus a jailbroken iPhone.

First, plug the iPhone into the computer and run specific commands in the Terminal. Install Palera1n, then the Beeper Mini app onto the phone to receive an iMessage registration code for the Android device of your choice.

Also, when the word “Checkmate” appears, or the process fails, you may have to unplug the iPhone if your Mac is equipped with Apple Silicon.

The jailbroken iPhone must be connected to your Wi-Fi and turned on. That’s only when you can use the service as intended and advertised.

To answer the question of getting a jailbroken iPhone, if you don’t own one, you can rent one for a couple of dollars per month or purchase from Beeper Mini for $30 – $60.

This is not yet certain since the company states its departure from the app. But if you’re interested, you will need to sign up and fill out a form on the developer’s webpage.

Although it states that the service is ending, Beeper says it will extend the program for another year if there is enough interest.
