Last night in Philadelphia, a group of individuals unlawfully entered an Apple Store, making off with the entire inventory of the latest iPhone 15 series. Their actions set off alarms, and as they hastily fled the scene, a sudden realization dawned upon them when they all realized that all the iPhones they had just stolen had been remotely disabled due to their robust anti-theft features.

Now, faced with this unexpected result, they found themselves in a precarious situation. Instead of evading capture, they opted for a rather baffling course of action – they began to destroy the iPhones they had just stolen. Their actions were captured and shared on X @EdKrassen, and one out of many out there is this one below.

The Philadelphia law enforcement authorities initiated a decisive response upon receiving reports of widespread looting in stores such as the Apple Store, Footlocker, and Lululemon, among others.

By the early hours of Wednesday, law enforcement had confirmed the apprehension of approximately 15 to 20 individuals involved in the looting, along with the recovery of a minimum of two firearms.

Footage from the video shows the Apple Store with iPhones and iPads scattered across display tables. Not long after, reports of break-ins near Rittenhouse Square began emerging shortly after 8 pm, following the dispersal of peaceful protesters who had gathered at City Hall to demand justice for Eddie Irizarry, who was tragically shot and killed by a Philadelphia police officer the previous month.

However, Senior Philadelphia Police Officer John Stanford maintained that the supporters of Irizarry were not linked to the unrest that occurred on Tuesday night.
